Lladro of Spain - Porcelain

The first set we are sharing is a porcelain portrayal of Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph delicately rendered by Lladro of Spain. We purchased it at a jewelry store in Florida. Happily we were able to take it out of the store's layaway in time to have a member of the Lladro family graciously sign each piece. (Mr. Lladro was visiting the U.S. on a promotional tour).

what a special blesing it must be to share your birthdays not only as mother and son , but on the same day we celebrate as the birthday of Christ. The Lladro is beautiful and I look forward to seeing more. God bless you, Mike

The Story

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior , which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. Luke 2: 8-14
